Rally Report 2014

  • Monks Barn Farm
A new venue for our AGM. The site was very good, a treat to have electric and the radio tent had its own pitch and electric. Lots of aerials were put up this weekend. A bit of a trek up to the barn and we did miss having a sink for the washing up. Stratford is a lovely place to visit. We had a change of some committee members at the AGM.

Thank you to everyone who helped over the weekend.

  • Nuneaton Rita & Jon
A good weekend, the weather is still being kind to us which always helps. We had a small shopping village to visit, I am told the café did wonderful breakfasts as sampled by various members. A childrens farm to visit, the donkey quite liked katie’s hand!

Thank you Rita & Jon.

  • Newark Radio Rally Jean & Jeff
Our first visit as a club to the Newark Hamfest. It was very good, several members visited the show, don’t think to much money was spent. I did not spy any big boxes coming back! The weather was excellent sunny and dry. It was nice to see old friends and members coming over for a chat.

Thank you Jean & Jeff

  • Ashwell Ann & Doug
Thanks to Ann & Doug for stepping in at the last minute as rally marshal’s. The weather was not to bad until flagpole, when it started to rain, and we were made to fly gliders in the wet! It was good fun! A lovely village to visit. Sadly the last rally of the season.

Thank you Ann & Doug.

  • Springfield Fisheries Maria & Steve
Poor Maria & Steve this rally certainly gave them some headaches, finding a site was just one problem. But what a lovely site we ended up on. All sited around a pond which was popular with fisherman. A mini bus took us to the evening meal on Saturday evening, very nice meal.

Thank you Maria & Steve.

  • Haxey Quays Gill & Geoff
Not a good start to the weekend, Finningley let Geoff down on the Wednesday night so after a few frantic phone calls Geoff got us in at Haxey Quays. Only 4 units so it was a cosy friendly rally. It was a weekend for things going wrong! Pam & Russell had a fire at the back of their fridge, luckily no one was hurt. Geoff’s electric pump went on the Sunday. The fish and chips in the pub made up for it all.

Thank you Gill & Geoff

  • Chatsworth House Pam & Russell
How posh were we!! Entering the grounds by a private drive through the golden gates. Poor Russell was kept fit walking backwards and forwards to unlock the gate. A lovely site with great views. But oh dear the weather, rain and a bit more rain, very squelchy under foot. It did manage to stay dry for a get together on Sunday evening and a quiz. Fish and chips delivered to our door by the rally marshal’s, yummy!!

Thank you Pam & Russell

  • Stoke Breurne Lisa & Stuart
First time as rally marshal’s and what a good job they did. Well at least Lisa did, Stuart seemed to disappear on Saturday to do some bike ride!!! The weather was wonderful except for Saturday morning. We had the longest flagpole we had, had in ages. Maybe it was the quiz that kept us there. A nice walking quiz as well which made us go for a walk and take notice of the locks and tunnel.

Thank you Lisa, Stuart & Emily

  • Stanton Lakes Pat & Alan
What a weekend for good weather. Some very good fishing done by Jon G4TET

Thank you Pat & Alan

  • Bitterswell Joanne & Paul
A new site for us and it was lovely. We had rain in the night and sunshine in the day. Jo & Paul had an unexpected visit to the hospital with Liam where he was diagnosed with Bells polsie, we are glad to say he has made a full recovery.

Thank you Joanne, Paul, Liam & Katie and not forgetting Tigger the cat!

  • Erw Glas Holiday Rally Emma & Micheal
What a gem of a site. The views were wonderful, rolling hills behind us. Site owners so friendly and helpful. Not sure about the chickens and the little deposits they left around the place. Weather superb. Until we wanted to pack up to come home then the rain came. 7 units attended and we all enjoyed the week.

Thank you Emma & Micheal
