Another great AGM weekend.Hard work and tiring but well worth the effort. We all ate too much but it was good. a good game of bingo, a hard quiz to name chocolate, we all thought we knew our chocolate, how wrong were we!! The weather was good until Monday when it tipped it down all day.
A big thank you to everyone who helped from the washer uppers to the rubbish collectors!
A nice flat mowed field in a lovely setting. The weather was changeable, sunny with a few showers. Yet another quiz to get our brain cells working!
Thank you to Rita & Jon
A return visit to this site after many years absent, the home of the birth of the ARCC. a lumpy bumpy field but then it always was. Great views. Thanks to TET for bringing his marquee which was well used all weekend. A social and chin wag Friday night. A soup kitchen Saturday night warmed everyone up. A committee meeting Sunday morning. A DF hunt got many out for a walk! a quiz on the air Sunday evening with everyone taking part, think a lot of wine and nibbles were consumed in each van!! Not sure what Doug our quiz master was drinking but it certainly helped! weather was not to bad dry and not to cold.
Thank you Ann & Doug
What a start to the season, wind, rain and cold. We were just missing snow!! Although a few flakes were seen early one morning. The marquee went up one day and down the next in terrible wet windy weather. That put paid to all plans of any get togethers.
Three units were towed on. The Easter bonnet parade was fun, trying to keep bonnets on heads because of the wind. Photos were taken to try and make life easier. Bring a pudding to share was scrapped, we all had to eat our own! Such a hardship!
The weather just got worse and worse and so did the entrance to the field, mud glorious mud, except when you are trying to get in and out. Several units decided to go home a day early, this was just not fun anymore. Of course they were towed off, the entrance was getting deeper and deeper in mud!
Our chairman left early on Monday morning or I should say tried to! He was confident he would get off. Away he went, oh no he got stuck, maybe because he had left his hand break on!! Sorry Paul could not let you forget that one!
Next came Ben and Sandy, from the top of the field, we were all sure they would make it, Ben had already helped get others off. Oh no the mud claimed another victim, maybe the motor mover still being on did not help. Two tow ropes later and a lot of squelching in the mud and they were off!
What a weekend to start the season, think we might have the record for the worst weather and most mud!!! Things can only get better.
A return visit to a good site. Although the traffic noise was loud. Nice to have a room for a get together in.
Thank you Sandy & Ben
We last visited this site 20 years ago and none of us could remember where we were the last time!!
A lovely site which was in the middle of the estate.Very quite.Nice to walk around the grounds. A lovely meal in the local pub on the Saturday night. Weather not to bad, some rain but sunshine as well. A quiz in the rally marshalls awning on Sunday night, where we learnt a bit but laughed more.
Then Pam went and mentioned those famous words ”Round to it” when talking about doing a walking quiz but they never got !?!?!
Thank you Pam & Russell
A well visited site by the club. Funny how the rally marshalls are the last ones to turn up!! Thanks to the parents for getting there before them. A nice walking quiz around the village made us all take note of things and chat to the boat owners. Another lovely meal in the pub.
Thank you Lisa and Stuart
What a lovely site, The Cricket Bat field. We drove down an avenue of willow trees, parked next to the river, watching the boats go by. We had flyovers from Brize Norton, a quiz that had us all baffled and a delicious cream tea.
Weather was very good. The RCC knit and natter group was formed, think there might have been more nattering than knitting, all good fun.
Thank you Margaret & Bob look forward to the return visit in two years.
A return visit to a nice fairly flat field. And the sun came out, such a treat at a rally. A nice turn out of vans.
Thank you Joanne, Paul, Liam & Katie
Michelle and Tim’s first time as rally marshals and they did a good job. A nice number of vans turned out. The sun shone, what more can you ask for.
Well done to you both. Also Paige, Abbey and Dylan
